Continental Treat Fine Bistro is a south Edmonton Best Gluten Free , modern European, Germanic Restaurant. A family affair, as three generations of the Borówka Family work together to bring their romantic turn of the century dining vision to life. Proud to serve since 1982, owners Ryszard , Helena Borówka ,their son Sylvester and Grandsons Matthew and Michal oversee the entire operation. Continental Treat Fine Bistro has become a premier choice for; anniversaries, birthdays, romantic dinners, small weddings and business dinners.
Our Executive Chef Elizabeth Palmowski and her team are constantly working to innovate the menu, while keeping the distinctive, traditional flavour of our most popular European dishes. We carry largest list of specialty beers and largest selection of fine wines, rare spirits (Van Winkle) and impossible to find beers (Westvleteren, Samuel AdamsUtopias, most expensive beer in the world).
The ambiance is warm european bistro charm with classical Jazz in the back ground.
The menu reflect a central and eastern European influence with the tastes of Poland, Germany, Hungary and Austria.(Gluten Free). You may enjoy such favourites as ; Escargots a la Bourgogne, Double Smoked Wild Salmon, Famous Dill Pickle Soup, , Flaczki (Tripe Soup),Beef Tatar, slowly roasted duck leg, Hungarian Goulash , and as well the Best Schnitzel in Edmonton. Our graceful staff and family awaits your arrival.
Some of our Special dishes:
Hungarian Goulash, Tender cubes of beef stewed in a Hungarian paprika-based sauce poured over a bed of spaetzle or kopytka and vegetable medley, with sour cream and diced pickles. Beef Tartar, Center cut raw beef tenderloin (150 grams), traditionally spiced. Tripe ( Flaczki ) soup, Hungarian style tripe soup, with garlic, tomatoes, onions, carrots and herbs. The “pickle soup” lives up to its reputation, a steaming, fresh cream of potato with chopped veggies, infused with pickle bits and a touch of pickle brine. Nobody else attempts this soup. It’s delicious!
Drinks and wines
When it comes to drinks to accompany your dinner - our beer selection is the largest one in the city, containing such rarities as Westvleteren XII or Samuel Adams Utopia (we are the only place where you can find Westvleteren in Edmonton), and our wine list is superb allowing you to choose your favorite wine from New and Old World wineries. If that’s not enough, we also carry an impressive amount of fine spirits and cocktails crafted to suit even the most exquisite palate.

To provide our customers with a variety of experiences we host Special Dinners held at our restaurant every month. Each event focuses on wines, beers or other liquors (like Bourbon or Scotch) brought to our valued guests by particular wineries, breweries and distilleries. The dinner features cheese reception, a four course meal accompanied by different type of wine of beer each time. Live jazz music adds another note of romance to your special evening. To make it all even more worthwhile, your memories will be captured by a professional photographer Aaron Ashley and posted on our Facebook page few weeks after the dinner.
We also host best Christmas parties, corporate dinners and small weddings in Edmonton!
We are located on Whyte Avenue in the heart of South Edmonton! For reservations or more information on our special events please visit our Facebook page or our website www.ctfinebistro.com, or you can simply give us a call at 780-433-7432. Continental Treat also takes open Table Reservations!
